Sacramento-Born Hidden Tide Launches Its Public Storyworld, Music Portal, and Creator Archive
New site follows Sacramento’s waterways into Pacific maritime history while opening five character worlds and recorded auditions through October 31, 2026
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Skyrider Storyworlds today launched the public website for Hidden Tide, a Sacramento-born theatrical pop ensemble and storyworld preparing a 2027 debut album and music-video cycle. The site brings the project’s original music, five principal characters, maritime research, first-person creator’s log, press archive, and recorded audition process into one public destination.
Visitors can hear character-led songs, study lyrics and performance identities, explore journals and costume references, use rehearsal tools, and move through the fictional world before choosing whether to follow the project or audition. The five principal characters are Mira Vane, Brine, Neris, Coralline, and Sable Fin.
Hear original character songs and use rehearsal tools.
Enter five character worlds through journals and visual concepts.
Follow the river-to-Pacific research behind the fiction.
Study the project and submit a recorded audition.
The website also makes the project’s geographic and historical route visible. Its research follows the Sacramento River through the Sacramento–San Joaquin Delta and San Francisco Bay to the Pacific, then examines Chinese sailing craft in Northern California, transpacific passage, and women-led pirate power in the South China Sea.
One documented thread is Free China, a traditional Chinese junk sailed roughly 6,000 nautical miles from Taiwan to San Francisco in 1955. The vessel later spent years at Bethel Island in the Sacramento–San Joaquin Delta before its surviving hull returned to Taiwan for preservation in 2012.
Hidden Tide also draws structural inspiration from research into the early nineteenth-century pirate confederacy associated with Zheng Yi Sao and Zhang Bao. The fiction does not reenact those people or events. It uses the history to ask how a maritime society organizes labor, rules, revenue, loyalty, coercion, and control of trade—and who gets described as a pirate.
“I wanted one place where someone could hear the songs, meet the characters, follow the research, and understand how Sacramento reaches the Pacific. The site is the gangway into the project: not the end of the voyage, but the place where other people can finally walk aboard.”— Collin Poseley, creator of Hidden Tide
The Making of Hidden Tide, the site’s creator’s log, begins February 1, 2026. Written in Poseley’s first-person perspective, its dated entries trace the code name Exotica, the concepts, music, characters, ship design, storyworld, and research choices behind the production.
Hidden Tide is accepting recorded auditions from singers, dancers, actresses, actors, musicians, and movement artists age 18 and older through October 31, 2026 (Halloween). Selected artists may participate in vocal recordings, music videos, rehearsals, and project-based live performances. Compensation is project-based.
The project is being developed in Sacramento as a long-horizon local cultural and entertainment asset, with plans for regional production and eventual national and international reach.
